1. I can always find some on Kijiji.com (or.ca if you're Canadian) Just click on your area and look under books, and there should be people selling them used. It's best because you don't pay shipping or anything since they live in your area... you just arrange a pick-up with the seller.
2. I do not know if this is the cheapest option, but I have a lot of friends that swear by Amazon.com's used books, and I have also used that option myself a few times. I have never been disappointed nor have I ever run into a seller that doesn't send the item, so I feel like I can recommend them.
3. Please listen to me. Do not buy your textbooks for college. Go to Chegg.com and rent your textbooks. You'll save so much more money. Just to give you an example of what I'm talking about, I spent $180 for a textbook for college last semester. ($180!) Turns out it was on Chegg.com for $60

5. For me, I bought all my textbooks from Amazon every year, including some used books at a cheaper price, together with new books. I bought from there because it often offers discount price and it is a well-known trustworthy website. I use http://www.bigwords.com They are a textbook search engine that searches all the online textbook retailers (including amazon, half, ebay etc) and rental sites (including chegg, bookrenter etc) to find you the best prices. You can even use them at the end of the semester to search for resellers to sell your books to.
